Governor Mark Dayton
I recently read that the previous governor of Minnesota hired an artist from Atlanta Goergia to do his portrait when he left office for the state of Minnesota. For the life of me with all the local talent here in Minnesota I really was disappointed that Mr. Pawlenty could not find a Minnesota artist to do this work. I hope that Mr. Dayton considers local artists to do his portrait when its time for him to leave the Governors office. I don’t think that there isn’t a Minnesota artist that would not enjoy doing a portrait of the governor.
Portraits
Here is a a couple of examples of the portrait styles I prefer to paint. I like to put the subjects in a nontraditional pose without any background distractions. It’s not that I do not to paint backgrounds in my portraits I will, but it must add to the subject matter not clutter it.
The subject matter here is of Senator Al Franken of Minnesota. I tried to capture what it is like being a freshman senator. The smaller one is a study for a final painting where I was trying to visually show how time is key and very important to a politician.
I have done a number of famous local celebrities in the Twin Cities including Minnesota Viking players. I really do enjoy producing art that will be in the family for years to come. If you have a family member you wish to capture on canvas feel free to contact me at steve@bergerfinearts.com. You can also check out some other portraits I have produced by clicking the products button on my homepage and look under the president portrait category on the right hand side of the page.

Templeton Rye “The Original”
If you are looking for a commissioned piece of art work here is an example of a recent work depicting a gentleman who loves this particular brand of rye whiskey. Both hail from a small town in western Iowa called Templeton.
Having sampled the whiskey I do have to say it is very good and highly recommend it if you can find it. This was a fun painting to do. If you are looking for a custom piece let me know the details and I will produce and exceptional piece for you.

A Young Boys Dream
This is a portrait piece I did of a little brother catching a breather after playing an ad hoc football game in his backyard. The game was played with his dog, his sister and nine invisible but very large NFL lineman. His brothers letter jacket and helmet helped to protect and project him into the hugest stadium he could imagine filled with cheering fans cheering him on to make the impossible touchdown run that is now no doubt playing over and over in his dream.
Ford Logo
As promised here is another Ford logo that has an added touch perfect for a passionate Ford enthusiast looking to dress up his garage with something other than just another calendar.
I was reminded of the similarities this painting has to a previous painting “Monte Carlo Dreaming” that I painted earlier this year andit does have a bit of the same look but it was not my intention to paint it to mimic the other painting . I just thought this logo needed something extra and well there it is. Ford guys will understand.
Chevelle Art
Another man cave piece of art for the Chevy fan. This is part of a series of American car icons that I recently have been creating. These are nostalgic pieces of work to do because I remember people back in highschool who had cars represented by these brands. Brings back a lot of good memories for me. At any rate I have three more on the drawing table as I post this piece today. I have added it to my porducts page so if you are interested contact me at: steve@bergerfinearts.com to order. I have yet to get my pay pal account on line. Hopefully by next week.
