This piece portrays the railroad bridge in Clinton Iowa at dusk. It is titled "Sailors Delight" from the saying "red sky at night sailors delight red, sky in morning sailor take warning". This bridge was built in the early 1900's and swings open to allow barge traffic move up or down on the Mississippi River. In the background just barely visible is the Gateway Bridge that connects highway thirty to Illinois.
