Girl By The Bridge
This covered bridge located at Winterset Iowa, was one of the six remaining covered bridges of Madison County, Iowa. 76 feet long, it was built in 1883 by Benton Jones over Cedar creek north of the county seat of Winterset. In 2002 this bridge was destroyed by fire and was replaced in 2004. The new bridge was based on old blueprints and photos of the original bridge, using as authentic to the original construction methods as possible.
