Return from Berlin
This painting is of a Boing B17 with damage to the tail. I have been commissioned a number of times to paint images of American planes of the Second World War for veterans and their families. I enjoy the details required to make the image painted accurate so that viewers can enjoy what the planes really looked like back in the day. The numbers and colors of particular planes make it real for those who know the plane and those who wonder what the plane looked like. The research is as much fun as creating the actual painting,
